BOOG’S Red Hots was founded by Kyle and his wife, Jasmin, inspired by a deep family tradition of food, flavor, and passion. Growing up in Tennessee and Georgia, Kyle didn’t experience restaurants like Portillo’s, and the importance of quality hot dogs and sausages wasn’t something he grew up knowing. That changed thanks to his grandfather, affectionately known as “BOOG,” who worked for the CTA and had a deep love for cooking, a skill passed down from his family. His mother, father, and uncle were all master chefs, with his uncle working in some of the top hotels in New York.
BOOG learned from the best and shared that passion with Kyle and his siblings. He had a favorite brand of polish sausage from Chicago, refusing to eat any other kind. When he visited Illinois, they would stock up on coolers full of his favorite, leaving a lasting impression on Kyle about the importance of quality in every bite.
